In this browser, on this device. They are still here after you close the page or turn off your computer, as long as you come back with the same browser. They don’t appear on your other devices. Clearing your browser’s history and site data deletes them, and some browsers (like Safari) may clear them if you don’t visit for a few weeks — so it’s a good idea to download a backup now and then with “Backup and restore”.

Yes. Right after deleting, press “Undo”. Later, open “Recently deleted” at the bottom of the notes list, choose the note and press “Restore”. Deleted notes stay there for 30 days.

Yes. Open the note, press “More”, then “Print”, “Download as .txt” or “Download as .md”. To download every note at once, use “Backup and restore”, which gives you a .zip with one text file per note.

Press “Backup and restore”, then “Download backup file”. Send that file to the other device (by email or on a USB stick, for example), open this page there, press “Backup and restore”, then “Restore from backup” and choose the file. Your notes are added next to any notes already there.

Yes. Press the folder button next to “New note”, or drag the file onto the page. Text files such as .txt, .md, .csv, .log and .json open as a new note. You can choose several files at once.

To search all notes, type in “Search notes” at the top of the list; matching words are highlighted. To find (and replace) words inside the open note, press “Find”, or Ctrl + F on a keyboard.

Yes. It works the same on phones, tablets and computers. Your notes stay on the device you wrote them on, so to carry them over to another one, see "How do I move my notes to another computer or phone?" above.

Alt + N new note · Ctrl + S save now · Ctrl + F find · Ctrl + H find and replace · Ctrl + P print. Tab adds an indent; to leave the writing area with the keyboard, press Esc and then Tab. On a Mac, use ⌘ instead of Ctrl and Option instead of Alt.
