Privacy policy

The short version

• The tools run in your web browser. The files you open are handled on your own device and are not uploaded to us.
• Your notes and settings are saved in your browser, on your device. We can’t see them.
• There are no user accounts, and no advertising or tracking cookies.
• Cloudflare hosts the website and handles the standard technical information every website receives.
• If you email us, we use your message only to reply and to improve the site.

Who we are

This website, edentools.org, is run by Eden Tools (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information is involved when you use the website and the tools on it, and what we do with it. It also covers emails you send to hello@edentools.org.

Your files

The tools run inside your web browser. When you choose a picture, video, song, PDF or any other file, your own phone, tablet or computer does the work. The file is not uploaded to our servers or to anyone else’s, and we never see your files or what you do with them.

The finished file is made on your device and saved wherever you choose. To make this possible, your browser downloads the tool itself (its code, fonts and icons) from our website, just like it loads any other web page.

What’s saved in your browser

To make the tools more convenient, some things are saved in your browser’s own storage (called “local storage”) on your device:

• Notes you write in the Notepad, so they’re still there when you come back.
• Your settings, such as dark mode and the options you last used in a tool, like the picture format or quality you picked.

This information stays on your device. It is not sent to us, and we can’t see it. Notes are only saved in the browser where you wrote them, so they won’t appear on your other devices.

You can remove this information at any time by deleting your notes in the Notepad, or by clearing this website’s data in your browser settings. Clearing your browser’s data, or using a private or incognito window, also removes your notes, so download any note you want to keep.

Hosting and server logs

Our website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. Whenever your browser asks for a web page, it automatically sends some technical information with the request. This happens on every website. It includes your IP address, the type of browser and device you use, the page you asked for, the page that linked you here, and the date and time.

Cloudflare processes this information to deliver the website to you and to protect it from attacks and abuse. It may keep it in logs for a limited time. Cloudflare runs a worldwide network, so this information may be processed in a country other than yours. We don’t use it to identify you. You can read how Cloudflare handles it in the Cloudflare privacy policy.

Visitor statistics

To learn which tools people find useful and whether pages load quickly, we may use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It counts visits without using cookies or saving anything in your browser, and it doesn’t follow you to other websites.

We only see totals, such as how many visits each page had, which countries visits came from, the types of browsers and devices used, and which websites sent visitors to us.

Cookies

Eden Tools doesn’t set any cookies, and there are no advertising or tracking cookies on this website. Cloudflare may sometimes set a strictly necessary security cookie to tell real visitors apart from harmful automated traffic. It isn’t used to identify you or to show you ads.

When you email us

If you email us, we receive your email address, your message and anything you attach. We use them only to reply to you and to improve the website. We don’t add you to a mailing list, and we don’t sell or share your email with anyone, unless the law requires us to.

Emails to hello@edentools.org are forwarded by Cloudflare’s email routing service to our inbox, which is kept by our email provider. We delete messages when we no longer need them, and you can ask us to delete yours at any time.

Links to other websites

Some pages link to other websites, such as Eden K Web Designs. Those websites have their own privacy policies, and this policy doesn’t cover them.

Children

People of all ages can use Eden Tools. The tools don’t ask for personal information, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If a child has emailed us and a parent or guardian would like that message deleted, please contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, for example in the European Union, the United Kingdom or California, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to how it’s used. In practice, the only personal information we might hold about you is an email you sent us.

We handle that information because we have a legitimate interest in running and protecting this website and in answering the messages people send us. We don’t sell or share personal information.

To make a request, email hello@edentools.org. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Security

The whole website is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Because the tools work on your device, they don’t send your files over the internet.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. If a change is important, we’ll make it clear on this page.
